Samaha completed a multifaceted restoration of the historic train station for the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority. The project included identifying barriers to accessibility to facilitate the owner’s efforts to provide equivalent access to the physically disabled to all places of public accommodation. We recommended historic preservation actions to provide long term solutions to reoccurring maintenance problems while our evaluation of existing structural damage at roof and foundation and preparation of design drawings for repairs ensured protection of the building’s historic fabric to the greatest extent possible. Our team solved site drainage problems and water infiltration troubles through corrective measures as a part of this successful restoration.
