Marketing Director:

 

Samaha is seeking a Marketing Director who is ready to join a team dedicated to making a difference by improving the built environment in our local communities. The Marketing Director will work directly with firm leadership to develop pursuit strategies, manage responses to proposal solicitations, develop presentations, and lead outreach efforts in both published and digital media. The position will be supported by a marketing coordinator who will assist in the creation of deliverable marketing materials. The Samaha team of planners, architects and interior designers will assist in the development of marketing materials, technical content and graphics as needed. The Marketing Director will be responsible for maintaining marketing materials and meeting deliverable deadlines for proposal responses, interviews, presentations, and awards submissions.

 

The position includes an opportunity to contribute in business development and expand Samaha's growing client base both in project markets and geographically. These markets include K-12, public safety, commercial, recreation, federal/military, industrial, historic preservation, healthcare and higher education. The individual should have a minimum 5 years experience marketing architectural/engineering services in the DC/Metro area. Strong business development, graphic, and technical content writing skills are a must. Candidates must be adept in InDesign, Photoshop, and Excel. Knowledge of Deltek Vision CRM software a plus.

Project Architects:

Samaha is seeking to hire talented employees with outstanding professional experience and tremendous potential with 3 - 10 years experience. We are seeking full time employees with the skills to contribute in a team atmosphere and the initiative to advance. We offer diversified experience on multiple project types in various stages of design. We are interested in registered architects looking to advance their career in a collaborative and supportive environment. We are also seeking interns and provide training in accordance with the Internship Development Program (IDP) as necessary to fulfill the experience requirements for becoming a licensed architect. Samaha further supports the goal of licensure by providing a professional development allowance for every employee, in house educational seminars, ARE study materials and reimbursement for the cost of the exams.

 

Interior Designers:

Samaha is also seeking talented, creative, enthusiastic, full-time Interior Designers to join our team. The preferred candidates will have a bachelor degree in interior design or architecture, 3-5 years relevant experience in the industry, and a passion for design. We are seeking full time employees with the skills to contribute in a team atmosphere and the initiative to advance. We offer diversified experience on multiple project types in various stages of design. We work in flexible teams and provide training as necessary to fulfill the experience requirements for becoming a licensed interior designer. Samaha further supports the goal of licensure by providing a professional development allowance for every employee, in house educational seminars, study materials and reimbursement for the cost of the exams.

 

The candidates will be immersed in all levels of project design from schematic to construction documents and construction administration. Role and Responsibilities will Include:

  • Preparation of design documents through all phases of development from programming, planning, conceptual design, schematic and design development through construction documentation and construction administration

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, In-Design, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Assist in the preparation of project estimates and schedules

  • Assist with graphic presentations and marketing

 

Interior Designer only:

  • Coordination and management of consultants, product reps, and furniture dealers

  • Assist team in the overall design and selection of FF&E

 

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required from accredited Architecture School or Interior Design Degree

  • Licensed in Architecture or Interior Design or in process of obtaining license

  • Ability to work independently and with a team

  • LEED AP or an interest in sustainable design

  • Minimum of three+ (3+) years relevant architecture and/ or interior design experience

  • Computer skills must include Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, In-Design and Photoshop

  • Exceptional graphic presentation skills

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of furniture, material and design specifications and related costs - interior design only

Architectural Drafter

Requirements:

 

  1. Primary: Bachelor of Architecture plus 2 years of prior experience in occupations related to Architectural Drafter: OR

  2. Alternate: Master of Architecture

 

Skills required: Portfolio demonstrating knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and SketchUp and AutoCAD and Revit.

 

Job duties:

1- Use computer aided architectural and creative software:

  • Physically survey and then model existing conditions using architectural software.

  • Provide schematic design drawings to convey ideas of space, building form, and context to the site for each project.

  • Develop construction drawings that show how the building is constructed by providing plans, building sections, building elevations and construction details.

  • Create 3D renderings and models for clients to envision proposed interior and exterior spaces.

  • Market the firm using software such as Adobe Creative Suite by providing diagrams and site plans of the firm’s completed projects with each graphic visually conveying the firm’s design ideas and goals of completed projects.

 

2- Collaboration with engineer consultants, client, and other design professionals:

  • Work independently and with other designers and architects within the firm.

  • Share knowledge, ideas, and skills within the firm’s project team to procure an overall well-designed building.

  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and requirements for each design and give professional guidance from beginning to the very end of a project;

  • Act as the person of contact for any communication between engineering consultants, client and contractor to resolve any conflicts within the design.

  • Attend progress meetings with all parties involves, from schematic design through to the end of construction.

  • Provide concept drawings to the clients and respond to comments and critiques of each design.

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with consultants, clients, architects and designers within and outside of the firms, and representatives of other design related practices.

  • Respond to request for information (RFI), product and drawing submittals, and project change orders from contractors and building owners in a timely manner.

 

 

3- Time Management:

  • Assist with several projects simultaneously from small scale such as space planning of an office space to large scale in renovations of K-12 schools.

  • Reach specific deadlines in each project by proving drawings and documents to clients at specific dates based on the project schedule.

  • Organize and prioritize required tasks for each project, at each phase of the design process.

4- Project Investigations:

  • Research and adhere to design templates and documentation standards of each project’s jurisdiction.

  • Comply with designs standards such as the American Disabilities Act (ADA) and the International Building Code (IBC).

  • Research design materials, precedents, and construction techniques.

  • Analyze existing conditions of a building and site paying close attention to the surrounding community, existing architectural typologies, and environmental site conditions.

  • Explore and research potential future developments of each project site and its surrounding area.

  • Provide possible solutions during the construction phase when there are design conflicts or unforeseen design changes.
