The new Medfield Heights Elementary School, located on a 3.6 acre site, addresses its urban location and creates a vibrant community asset. The main entrance remains on Buchanan Avenue, anchoring the corner of the site with a communal green space. The building addresses this corner with the administration suite monitoring the green space and the main and secondary entrances. The double height media center is stacked above the administration suite and main entrance. The three-story academic wing fronts Wood Heights Avenue, taking advantage of its solar orientation for light and views. The activity spaces are located on Buchanan Avenue, adjacent to parking and outdoor play areas. Separate community services and access are provided to serve the needs and support the neighborhood. Medfield Heights is scheduled to open in December, 2020
