Crosspointe Fire Station #41
Fairfax County, VA

Size:

14,824 SF; accommodates 18 personnel

The Crosspointe Fire Station served as a LEED® pilot project for the county, incorporating natural daylighting, passive solar heating, recycled materials, and advanced MEP systems. Stainless steel columns along the building’s angulated front facade conceal rain cisterns that store water for use in irrigation and vehicle washing. The facility includes four drive-through apparatus bays, a hose tower, and accommodations for three shifts of personnel; and was designed to minimize operating costs.
