The station’s design is compatible with Great Falls’ rural heritage—taking its cues from agrarian forms such as farmhouses and grain silos. The building’s facade combines stone and cement board siding that resembles wooden clapboard, and a tower accommodates hose storage and ladder training. Its design incorporates sustainability as well, and the building achieved LEED Gold certification through the utilization of extensive vegetative roofs, daylighting, and in-slab radiant heating.  The station will accommodate a combined staff of 18 career and volunteer personnel, and the building achieved LEED Gold certification through the utilization of extensive vegetative roofs, daylighting, and in-slab radiant heating. The station will accommodate a combined staff of 18 career and volunteer personnel. The replacement fire station was constructed on the site of the existing station. Fire and rescue operations were maintained throughout the construction. To meet this requirement, a phased construction schedule was designed into the project where a temporary facility was constructed on site during the first phase. Once the temporary facility was operational, demolition and construction of the new facility was able to begin. During the design process the design team worked carefully with the owner and users to ensure all aspects of operation would be maintained and Samaha managed the construction process ensuring those requirements were met and the contractor met deadlines for the users to seamlessly move into each facility.
