FEMA Public Safety Center

Size:

22,500 SF

Samaha was commissioned to provide architectural and engineering services for the design of a new state-of-the-art public safety center to replace the existing fire station and separate clinic facility currently serving Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center (FEMA). The new facility is a 22,500 SF one-story facility with a detached training tower. The fire station occupies the west side of the facility and the health unit occupies the east side, with the apparatus bay occurring between the uses. This building was designed to achieve a life cycle energy reduction of 33.9% when compared to the baseline.
