The Coles District Fire Station #6 replaces the dilapidated pre-engineered station on the same site. The design of the new facility employed phased construction and required strategic concepts to work around challenging site constraints including roadway improvements, land conservation areas, and relocation of a civil war era cemetery. The resulting 24,331 SF facility supports the Coles District through meeting the operational mission of three shifts of 21 fire fighters and rescue personnel and serving as a hub of rapid public safety response in the community.
